Fish Portraits
Growing up I fished in the Michigan wilderness with my uncles all through the 60's. When I moved back to Michigan in 2017, my wife asked me to paint some fish for our walls.

Alaskan Sockeye Salmon
Is there a healthier omega-3 fish to eat on the planet? I don’t think so. And if you’re going for wild salmon, which you should, the Alaskan sockeye is superior to any fish on earth.
Cutthroat Trout
I fished the Klamath River in Oregon in the early 60’s when I was in the Air Force. What a delight to catch one of these beautiful fish, it is a true reward.

Brook Trout
I caught many of these brook trout on Au Sable River in Michigan as a child. We would clean them, leave their heads on and drop them in an open fire frying pan. There was nothing more delicious than a brook trout cooked with a little butter on a crisp morning in Upper Michigan.
Rainbow Trout
I grew up in Michigan and my uncle Frank would take me on wilderness excursions, where we wouldn’t see anyone for three days while on the river. I grew to love catching and eating rainbow trout.

Grayling
The grayling is near extinct and the state of Michigan is working on a program to bring them back. They are characterized by a multi-colored dorsal fin that is a kaleidoscope of enchanting colors.
