I have always been captivated by the variety of colors found in all of creation. Painting allows me to express on paper and canvas color schemes that I believe God enjoys working with me on. - Pastor Mike

Spring Rain
Every few months when at Mayo Clinic for treatment, I enjoy the nearby nature walk. It's thriving with native plants, with lots of varieties so that there are different blooms year round.

Crossing Over
An alaskan moose I painted for my fellow Father-in-Law and friend, Kent.

Sonoran Desert
I find myself captivated by the colors of the desert and the way the plants grow so strong despite the harshness of the long summer days. The resilience of the cacti and native plants brings to mind spiritual fortitude and digging our own roots deep for nutrients.
Prince of Peace
As I painted this, I found myself wondering, on the night that Jesus was born, just how bright was the Star of Bethlehem? How far did it's light reach and how many different countries were touched by it's brightness.
Marvels of Creation
Can one ever stop being surprised by the wonders of God's creation? I find that even after eighty years of life and travel all over the world, there are always new wonders to enjoy.
Memories of Home
I grew up in Jasper, MI. We had beautiful winters full of snow, a day full of farm chores and a heart and mind full of memories that I now share with my own growing family.
Suttons Bay
It is hard to convey with mere words the beauty and peace of a place like Suttons Bay. To describe it without color would be lacking, because what is Suttons Bay if not a gorgeous kaleidoscope of natural beauty.
Alone, Yet Not Alone
A mountain stands, tall solemn and alone. Yet is it truly alone when the peaks support it?

Arizona's Colors of Christmas
I was stunned upon moving to Arizona to see how much color the rocks and mountains around here have. The sun paints them with gorgeous hues, different every day.
