Storybook Art
I wanted to create memories for our children and grandchildren through storybook telling and art. This is a sampling of the art that ties into several storybooks that the children can read to their children and grandchildren both. This is a great way to create memories and a legacy of love and laughter.

A Touch of Yesterday
My fondest memories come from our farm-life in Michigan. And I will always remember going to the granary in the old truck.
County Church
The little country church always reminds me of what true fellowship should be, inviting, loving, and accepting everyone for who they are.

Our Farm Kitchen
We spent a lot of time over meals in this kitchen. My mom would bake bread and there is nothing like fresh made butter to go on the homemade bread.
Guiding You Home
In the darkness of night, the lights flooding out of the windows was a great invitation that I'm nearing home.

Hometown Barber Shop
Those early days of going to town to get a haircut were somewhat rare, and quite enjoyable. Most of the time mom, who was a cosmetologist, would cut all of our hair.
A Rural Church

There's something about the tall steeple on a church that tells us from some distance away that a fellowship of believers is waiting to welcome us.

Childhood Barn
What memories from this barn.

From building hideouts made from hay or straw, to feeding our cows Molly and Daisy, to discovering newborn barn kittens, this barn is where I spent many hours.

Trusting my cats to take care of rats and mice, I could easily sleep in the upper loft of the barn without intruders.
The Man With Many Hats
I am often referred to at our church as 'the man with the hat'. I have many different styles of hats and whenever I am out in public, I am generally donning one of them.

My children can remember the row of hats lining the wall in their childhood home.

Frosty and the Pack
Oh how we loved the winter snows in Michigan. It made the most ideal snow for building snowmen. From building forts for snowball fights, entire families of snowmen, to playing with our dogs in the snow or sledding, this winter wonderland will always hold a special place in my heart.
A Child's World
I painted this for my storybook A Week Before Christmas, based on the artwork of Trisha Romance. This is one of my favorite stories of Christmas for the kids.

Coming Home for Christmas
This sleigh plays a prominent part in my story Coming Home For Christmas. A young boy and his dog, Tuna, take the sleigh out to cut a Christmas tree and get caught in a blizzard.

The grandchildren no matter how many times they've heard it are always on the edge of their seats, waiting to see how it will end.

Christmas on the Farm
We didn't have a lot of money growing up. But, the sheer memory of Christmas has left an inedible imprint on my love for this holiday.

I would stay awake early until the next morning for the first snows of winter.

A Christmas Remembered
I wrote this story as one of my first in a series of books for my children and grandchildren. This story speaks of friendship in a families most desperate hour when they have no one to lean on.
Our Jasper Farm
I still love the old trucks.

As they bring back so many fond memories of growing up as a young boy on a farm. I learned what real work ethic is, putting in a full days work, having a feast at the end of the day, and the character that is forged through hard work.

Pasture in Winter
A blanket of snow turned the muddy fields into a beautiful scene that added to the wonderful life that growing up on a farm afforded our family.
Mom's Canning
We had a large garden and grew enough assorted vegetables to put up several hundred quarts of canned vegetables for the winter season. My mom was always working, cooking and canning so that we had nutritious meals.

I will always remember her dedication to raising us.
