Land & Water Paintings
I never thought I would be able to paint buildings. My good friend Pat, who designs buildings and landscapes for a living, encouraged me to press on. If you allow critics to overly influence your art, you may give up on a wonderful avocation that brings you joy. We will improve with time and dedication.

Motif #1 Rockport
This is considered the ‘most painted building’ in the United States and for that reason, when my wife and I were on a trip, we made sure to stop here so that I could paint. It was originally an old fishing shack that caught the eye of artists and became a historical art site.

Fishtown, Leland MI
Fishtown is one of the oldest commercial fisheries in the United States. I was thrilled to see this old town still thriving; a wonderful place to take my family and guests to try smoked fish and watch the salmon spawning.

Gloucester, Harbor Walk
This is the old paint factory in Gloucester Harbor, and I took a picture of the water which caught the reflection of two fisherman. It was serene moment that made me want to linger and enjoy.
Sam Juan Bautista Mission
One of my greatest thrills was having chickadees become comfortable with me in the garden and they would come and eat out of my hands. I would speak softly to them, and they would return time and time again to the take the seeds I offered.

God Loves Black Sheep
I have always been considered the black sheep of my family, but as I have learned through my journeys and struggles, God loves black sheep. It matters not to Him whether I fit in, because I fit where it matters. No matter my shortcomings

Dry Creek Valley Vineyards
When fall comes to Dry Creek Valley, the world blooms with golden hues. In capturing one of our visits there. I experienced intertwined rows of gold with some remaining green, a beautiful and fond memory. This is a trip I took with my friends and fellow artist Bernie.

Winter on the Farm

It was in reflecting back that I wrote a poem called ‘A Little Boy’s Christmas’. On Christmas Eve I would sit at the window looking out on the fields waiting for the first snow to begin. I would be the last one to fall asleep in the house and would be the first in the morning to wake. God surprised me many times with those muddy fields covered with a blanket of white.
Cement Boats
The cement boat in Seacliff has been a popular spot for years, and my children grew up playing on that beach. As the years pass, the boat erodes more and more; I wonder if any will even be left when my grandchildren may someday visit. Here is a memory that cannot erode.

Burano
Burano is one of the most colorful places I have ever visited. We spent a month traveling through Italy before finishing up at a villa overlooking the Tuscan hills for my son’s wedding that I officiated.

Pietra Santa Winery
Pietra Santa Winery is a beautiful place that I often visited with friends and family while living in California. A scenic drive, a spacious vineyard and delicious wine to enjoy together under the sun.

Sausalito Harbor

Is a small city, not far from San Francisco. It's quaint and not nearly as intense a trip as San Francisco. It presents a laid back, restful mood, a plethora of art, culture, and wine to enjoy.
Frank Eber's Barn
My art buddy Bernie and I took a one-week art class from Frank. We were required to paint one painting each day from one of Frank’s finished watercolors. This is the only one that was worth keeping. Thanks, Frank, for your graciousness in working with aspiring artists.

Going Fishing
My uncles taught me how to fish. I will always remember those times as a boy when I would go fishing with them. Fishing teaches patience especially when what you catch is your dinner.
Santorini
On my last tour of the Holy Land, in 2011, we made it a whirlwind trip, following the journeys of Paul through Israel, Greece and Turkey. We did some side adventures on the Islands of Mykonos, Santorini, Crete and Patmos where John was exiled and received the words of Revelation.

My Farm Memories
My memories of growing up on a farm have never left me. I believe they are what has helped shaped me into the person I am today. Hard work and the satisfaction of reaping the rewards of my labor are lessons in character that I cherish to this day.
Saying Goodbye
Kent is our dear friend and our son Caleb’s father-in-law. He requested I paint him a painting, memorializing him and his beloved dog Tucker in an eternal walk together.
