Acrylics
Acrylic painting offers me a sense of adventure. I can make bold moves, and when things don't go as planned, I can paint over my work with layers and colors to make it again. Like the Potter in Jeremiah 18:1-4, the vessel was marred in the hands of the Potter, and He made it again into a vessel of His choosing.

Marvels of Creation
Can one ever stop being surprised by the wonders of God's creation? I find that even after nearly eighty years of life and travel to many places in the world, there are always new wonders to enjoy.

Desert Rain
It doesn’t take much rain to transform the desert. Every few months when at Mayo Clinic for treatment, I enjoy the nearby nature walk. It's thriving with native plants, with many varieties so that there are different blooms much of the year.

captivating Colors of Arizona
When I first arrived in Arizona, I was captivated by the colors of the early morning sunrise. I never dreamed that a desert could be so beautiful. God is so creative. This is the largest painting I have done
Crossing Over
An Alaskan moose I painted for my fellow father-in-law and friend, Kent. He asked me to paint him a moose that would go with my painting “Quietude” which has a similar color scheme. I questioned whether I could paint a moose, and I wrestled through this one.

Saguaro Lake
As we were driving over to Saguaro Lake, we were looking for the wild mustangs along the salt river. What a beautiful, pristine and seemingly untouched area.

Memories of Home
I grew up on a small farm in Jasper, MI. We had beautiful winters full of snow, a day full of farm chores and a heart and mind full of memories, I now share my childhood memories with my own growing family.

Daydreaming
I was stunned upon moving to Arizona to see how much color the rocks and mountains around here have. The sun paints them with gorgeous designs, the colors different every day.
Fall Colors
This reminds me of the fall colors from the section of woods on our property while living in Minnesota for three years. The last year we were there I picked up over seventy double bags of leaves on my John Deere Tractor. I loved watching pheasants, turkeys, deer, squirrels, piliated woodpeckers, bluebirds, etc. enjoying with us.

Quietude
I painted this painting for my wife Trisha who loves being on the water. Whether sailing on a boat or walking on the beach, she is in her element by the sea.

My preference has been the countryside, with its rolling hills, and vibrant floral colors. I got my ocean experience from Trisha, though I maintain a healthy fear of the roaring waves, so I paint calm waters for her.

Solitude
When our children were young, our family was invited to spend a week with our friends on his fifty-five foot sailboat. This has been one of our favorite memories as a family, sailing through the San Juan Islands. Since then, whenever I see a sailboat, I’m reminded of those wonderful times and adventures.

Sonoran Desert
I find myself captivated by the colors of the desert and the way the plants grow so strong despite the harshness of the long summer days. The resilience of the cacti and native plants recalls spiritual fortitude and digging our own roots deep for nutrients.
Santa Cruz Harbor & Lighthouse
Our family enjoyed this area in Santa Cruz, CA. We would eat at the ‘Crow’s Nest’ and watch the sailboats from the patio before taking a walk on the beach.

Hudson, Wisconsin
Trisha and I enjoyed this area, with its river and lake frontage filled with sail boats. The Saint Croix River forms Lake Saint Croix in the Hudson area. The Saint Croix flows 164 miles to its confluence with the Mississippi River near Prescott, WI.

It is hard to convey with mere words the beauty and peace of a place like Suttons Bay, MI. To describe it without color would be lacking, because what is Suttons Bay if not a gorgeous kaleidoscope in the green and blue hues of natural beauty.
